Overall responsibility for welding process performance to meet quality and customer needs.
-
Develop and update work instructions for welding-related processes.
-
Qualify WPS/PQR and WPQ based on material grades, processes, and customer requirements as per ASME, ISO, EN standards.
-
Maintain documentation including welding parameter selection sheets, WPS master list, approved welders list, and other welding-related records.
-
Ensure implementation and monitoring of welding procedures including preheating temperature, electrode baking/holding, interpass temperature, etc.
-
Conduct incoming inspection of welding consumables and tools (e.g., electrodes, pyrometers, tempilsticks).
-
Provide technical training and evaluation for welders and welding inspectors.
-
Monitor welding booths, welder details, rod consumption entries, sub-store documentation, and quality control reports.
-
Ensure compliance with ASME, ASTM, EN, DIN, ISO, NACE, and customer-specific standards.
-
Offer daily technical support to operations related to welding and associated processes.
-
Ensure traceability and identification are effectively followed within the welding process.
-
Manage and coordinate internal and external audits related to welding.
-
Monitor and approve daily major repair castings and submit weld repair reports for customer approval.
-
Conduct process audits across plants and follow up on corrective actions.

Drive continual improvement in welding performance through new equipment, methods, and techniques.

Perform and monitor calibration of welding equipment.

Support stores and operations in stock maintenance of welding consumables based on consumption.

Collaborate with the purchase team to monitor supplier performance of welding consumables.

Control internal and external non-conformances related to welding.
-
Prepare and publish monthly welding rod consumption and analysis reports.
-
Manage WPQ prolongation and renewal as per standards.
-
Ensure effective EHS practices within the welding area.

Provide technical opinions to clients/customers through sales and ensure proper documentation.

Maintain proper housekeeping of the work area at the end of each shift.
-
Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Head of Department.
المهارات
-
Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering.
-
3 to 6 years of experience in welding operations, preferably in a steel casting foundry.
-
Additional experience in heat treatment, NDE, and quality control.
-
Certified in one or more of the following:CSWIP 3.1 | AWS-CWI | IWT / IWE
-
Strong knowledge of welding processes and international standards.
-
Hands-on experience in WPS, PQR, and WPQ qualification.
-
Proficiency in NDE techniques: RT, UT, MT, PT, VT.
-
Familiarity with welding codes: ASME, ISO, EN, ASTM, DIN, NACE.
-
Ability to manage documentation, audits, and compliance effectively.
-
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
-
Experience in training and evaluating welders and inspectors.
-
Proactive approach to continuous improvement and operational support.

Gulf Metal Foundry
A pioneer foundry in the UAE,operating since 1993,Gulf Metal Foundry (GMF) has a production capacity of 5,000 ton steel castings per annum and is located in Al Quoz Industrial Area 2. It is certified for ISO 9001-2015,holds PED certification from Lloyds and manufacturing facility certifications from Lloyds, DNV and GL for manufacturing marine castings. GMF has a proven track record in the manufacture of carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel,duplex stainless steel,Duplex and High Nickel Alloys conforming to international standards and can manufacture castings weighing up to a maximum of 3.5 tonnes. Melting is done using induction furnaces and moulding by resin sand system.Patterns are manufactured in house using CNC pattern making machine.Heat treatment facilities include normalizing, annealing, solutionising, water quenching, tempering and stress relieving.The GMF laboratory has spectrometer for chemical analysis, sand testing equipment, metallographic testing and corrosion testing facilities, a ferritoscope, tensile,impact (including cryogenic) and hardness testing machines. GMF offers non-destructive testing, including radiography and Ultrasonic testing,with outsourced machining. They produce and re-engineer valve bodies, pump parts, and castings, exporting to Germany, France,the UK,and GCC countries.
